Unwind the clock of modern life. Unlock the door to a wonder of the world.
The city of Corfu will take your breath away. It’s not only the unique architecture, the influences of English of French and Venetians, but mostly the atmosphere, the smells and the locals themselves residents of the island that make Corfu a blessed place.
Whether you arrive by plane or by boat, the island stands out from its two large castles. As the plane approaches, you can admire the picturesque church of Vlacherena in the area of Kanoni where, by the way, a lot of people, not only Corfiots, choose to perform their wedding, whereas, if you opt for the boat, the historical old harbor with the line of traditional housing and fortification of ‘Mouragia’ will give you a feeling of stepping back to the venetian period of chivalry. Mainly the old castle had served to protect the island from sieges and especially from the great siege of the Turks in 1716. Go up to the old fortress at its highest point where the cross is located and enjoy the unique view of the city!
In the city of Corfu you will find many different attractions. Unique museums such as the one and only museum of Asian Art in Europe but also the unique banknote museum, the Archaeological Museum and many other smaller ones. Do not forget to visit during your stay the National Gallery, Corfu annex, in Kato Korakiana with works by famous painters such as El Greco!
Corfu has a huge history. From ancient times until today, many peoples have passed, some as friends and others as conquerors. However, engraved in everyone’s memory is the important help that Corfu had given to the Serbs and their army in 1916, as well as the concession of the Corfu Town Hall to the Serbian parliament, resulting in the inseparable close friendship between the two peoples.
During the period of Venetian rule, the occupation by the British but also by the French Corfu received a variety of influences. The result is a city, whose culture stands out on a global scale. It is no coincidence that many people from all over the world have settled permanently in Corfu and now consider it their homeland!

All the inhabitants of the island have music education and participate in the celebrations and the processions of St. Spyridon with reverence and faith. The most important moment apart from the summer to be in Corfu, is Easter. Easter in Corfu is so unique and imposing that the city receives more tourists than any other part of Greece! This is one of the several beaches in Corfu island rewarded with the Blue Flag by the European Community for the cleanness of its sea water.
To reach the beach you need to follow the streets that from the coastal road will take you down to the sea.
Just behind the beach there’s a nice green area where you can relax under olive trees shadow.
Kalami bay is set beneath the hills on Corfu north east coast, roughly 30km from Corfu and the airport which is around a 45 minute to an hours drive.
Kalami definitely isn’t a lively resort but it does have a small selection of tavernas, shops and bars as well as a lovely traditional Greek feel to the village. Kalami will appeal mainly to people who want a slow paced holiday, to relax and enjoy the sun, sea and gorgeous scenery.
Most of the amenities are down by the beach or on the road that runs through the village, just behind the beach. The beach is mainly pebbles with sunbeds available to hire, there’s a couple of tavernas on the beach for refreshments and snacks throughout the day.
Kalami also has a small marina just round the headland from the beach, there’s a taverna up the hill, overlooking the marina and this is a great place to sit and watch the Greeks coming and going about their business.
